Actuator Fault Detection using a Linear Dynamics Error Observer (Spanish)

Abstract |
A nonlinear observer aimed at actuator fault detection and isolation is introduced. The class of nonlinear systems considered can be transformed into a particular form that allows designing an observer with linear error dynamics. The difference between the measured plant output and the estimated value predicted by the observer is used to detect a fault. The fault signature is estimated, so that it can be isolated. The proposed technique is applied to an example and simulation results illustrate the behavior of the nonlinear observer.
